YahZarah at Blues Alley

YahZarah is a soul artist that has been getting much love on the conscious 'net lately.  She's coming home to D.C. for a show at Blues Alley on 1/1.

Her latest album, The Ballad of Purple Saint James, was produced by The Foreign Exchange, and she's also collaborated with Marsha Ambrosius and Raphael Saadiq.  She sang backup for Erykah Badu on Mama's Gun (IMO, one of the best CDs of the neo-soul era), and actually appeared in Badu's "Bag Lady" video.  YahZarah's the one in yellow.

I'm likely going to check out her performance--the set is being billed as "A Tribute to the Music of Prince."
