The Deadliest Toxin in Your Kitchen?

Came across this NY Times article on sugar entirely too late at night. 

It's useful reading, and enough to give you nightmares about all of the cookies, creme-filled doughnuts, cakes, cupcakes and other sweet goodies that you've ingested over the course of your life...
**licks lips, then gives side-eye to big canister of the white stuff in cabinet**

I know that there isn't conclusive evidence that sugar is toxic, but I am considering investing in some "Sugar in the Raw" anyway.  Won't turn down any chocolate Easter bunnies this week, though.
